Ahmad Irfan Aslam is a distinguished international lawyer, arbitrator, and corporate leader with over 20 years of experience in international trade, investment, and dispute resolution. He founded Rekoberg, a boutique investment advisory and asset management firm headquartered in Dubai, specializing in serving regional sovereign wealth funds, including the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).
Rekoberg focuses on designing, structuring, and executing investments in emerging and frontier markets across four strategic sectors: mining, infrastructure, technology, and food security. The firm is currently advising KIA and its subsidiaries on their proposed USD 10 billion investment program in Pakistan. Mr. Aslam leads Rekoberg in creating long-term value for its clients through innovative and sustainable investment strategies.
Mr. Aslam’s extensive public service career includes serving as Pakistan’s Minister for Law & Justice, Water & Natural Resources, Climate Change and Investment (2023-2024) and National Security Advisor (2022-2023). As Head of the International Disputes Unit in the Office of the Attorney-General (2016-2022), he managed Pakistan’s largest portfolio of international disputes, successfully leading the nation in complex cases. Prior to this, he worked at the United Nations (2012-2016) in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General.
Mr. Aslam has been awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (2020) and the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (2024), Pakistan’s third and second-highest national awards, respectively. He is a prolific writer and speaker on international law and investment, and has held visiting fellowships and lectureships at leading universities.
Mr. Aslam holds an MA in International Law & Economics from the University of Bern, Switzerland, a degree in Law from the University of London, and a degree in Economics from Cambridge University. He is fluent in English and French and possesses a basic knowledge of Arabic.
